Titanium(pure titanium) and titanium alloy new technology, new technology, new use

  1.1 Introduction to Titanium:

  Titanium is a new type of material, which has the advantages of low density, high specific strength, heat resistance and corrosion resistance. Its weight is only half that of iron, but its mechanical properties such as hammering and drawing are on par with copper.

  1.2 Introduction to titanium alloy:

  Titanium alloy and titanium are similar in nature to a certain extent. They have the characteristics of low density and high strength. In addition, they have excellent mechanical properties and strong corrosion resistance.

  2. New technology, new technology and new use of titanium

  2.1 Preparation method of titanium

   Although titanium is relatively abundant in nature, it is also a rare metal because it is dispersed and difficult to extract. At present, the preparation of titanium is divided into two categories: thermal reduction method and molten salt electrolysis method.

  (1) Preparation of titanium by thermal reduction method

The thermal reduction method uses strong reducing agents such as Li, Na, Mg, Ca and its hydrides to reduce titanium from titanium compounds such as TiCl 4, TiO 2, K 2 TiF 6 and so on at a certain temperature.

   At present, only Kroll method and Hunter method can be successfully applied in industrial production. The Kroll method uses metallic magnesium to replace the titanium in the chloride, and the Hunter method uses metallic sodium to replace the titanium in the chloride.

    (2) Preparation of titanium by molten salt electrolysis

Over the years, domestic and foreign scientific research institutions and laboratories have developed a total of more than a dozen new technologies for preparing titanium by molten salt electrolysis. They can be divided into the following three categories according to the raw materials: ① titanate electrolysis; ② titanium chloride Electrolysis method; ③The electrolysis method of titanium oxide includes FFC Cambridge method, MER process, USTB method, QIT process, SOM method and ionic liquid electrolysis method.

  2.2 New uses of titanium

   Since the 1940s, the use of titanium has developed rapidly, and it has been widely used in aircraft, rockets, missiles, satellites, spacecraft, naval vessels, military, medical and petrochemical fields. The latest research found that the human body contains a certain amount of titanium, which can stimulate phagocytes and strengthen the immune function. Therefore, many laboratories are working on the development and application of biological titanium.

  3. New technology, new technology and new use of titanium alloy

  3.1 Preparation method of titanium alloy

  The traditional processing of titanium alloys generally uses smelting and casting technology. The latest processing technology is divided into the following types:

  (1) Near net shape technology;

  (2) Wire friction welding technology;

  (3) Superplastic forming technology;

   (4) Computer simulation technology of material preparation and processing.
